Growing up I had a Grandfather who video taped every move we made, sure it was a tad bit annoying at the time, but looking back on those photos and videos brings so many memories and emotions. I also had a Father who's a bit of a tech guy with a love for art. He bought me a camera for almost every holiday I can remember. Throughout high school and college I had a camera with me for every adventure.

"Kala, did you bring your camera." was a common phase when I showed up.

Ironically, it took me thirty years of life and my third baby to get a "big girl" camera. Yea, I was the one with 8,000 photos slowing down my new iPhone. I finally outgrew my beginner DSLR and had the urge for a biggest beast. I wanted to be sure I was invested in this little hobby of mine, so I decided to do a project 365. I shot, edited, and posted a photo everyday for a year. To say I was shocked when people started reaching out for me to capture their life moments is a drastic understatement. The amount of people I told "no" now makes me laugh. I was TERRIFIED. To me this was not something to be taken lightly. This one moment you have to capture will only happen once, ONCE. Your kids will only be this many days old TODAY. Oh the pressure! Someone picked all these perfect outfits and made you feel beautiful, I better not be the one to screw it up, ha!

I'll never forget the first session I had and said to myself this is it, this is why. They thanked me countless times after for how much they (as a family) enjoyed their session, I hadn't even given them their photos back yet! After that I knew that I wanted to bless every family with an experience, not just photos. To the parents- this is one hour you are off parent duty, enjoy your kiddos. Snuggle, love, play, just soak them in. Couples- I will make you do all kinds of ridiculous things to get you laughing and loving on your partner. Seniors- eh, I usually just crack jokes about myself and for some reason they find it hilarious, hm. I would love to capture these moments for you to hold on to for a lifetime.
